I assumed command of the Stalwart while the Captain was engaged in negotiations over the upcoming station handover at the end of this year. Commander Sh’Qinir has taken an extended leave of absence, thus necessitating I take over in auxiliary role as second officer.
During my tenure, it was discovered that Lt. Cassius Casanova was being animated by an electrical-based lifeform from the fourth planet of the system designated “Proepsilon Delta,” and had been animated Lt. Casanova’s body for a significant period of time. This was realized after the body of Lt. Casanova suffered a massive heart attack while engaging in paid coitus with a prostitute on the station.
Lt.Cmdr. Nova engaged in several violations of the Federation Charter of Rights and Freedoms. In deference to her overly emotional nature, I gave her an opportunity to be confined to quarters while I sorted out the issues. However, she refused my direct order, and thus, I had her arrested. I assume she will be departing for a trial and eventual lengthy stay in a rehabilitation center once the Captain returns.
That matter dealt with, I attempted to calm the creature inhabiting the body of Lt. Casanova, with some success. It agreed to be confined to quarters until the Captain’s return.
I acquitted my duties to my satisfaction.
